Odd Todd’s Backyard Country Club, Pool Meets Putting:

This Oddball turned his backyard into a three-hole, par-3 golf course — right around the pool and patio. During the construction of his new sunroom/clubhouse, and after a series of delays, the owner got tired of tracking stone and debris into the house and pool from the unfinish patio. To solve the problem, he came up with the idea of using indoor-outdoor carpeting as a clean transition from the pool to the house.
Naturally, he chose green carpet so it would blend with the lawn. That’s when inspiration struck — why not drop in a regulation golf cup and turn the area into a putting green? One thing led to another, and soon it evolved into a full three-hole, par-3 backyard course.
The tee boxes and fairways use whiffle balls to keep things and window safe, while regular golf balls are reserved for the green.
To top it off, I took an aerial photo of the owner’s backyard and pool, brought it into my CAD program, and converted the image into detailed drawings of the course and each hole for the scorecard.
By the way I am the Oddball. So make an appointment, and we’ll play a round — after all, more than a few deals have been made on the golf course.
